Improving future network connectivity is an important goal for NCI-Frederick Networking. The network upgrade to a Gigabit Ethernet backbone, and 10/100Mbps connectivity to the desktop is nearly complete. Also the Internet connection to NIH (National Institutes of Health) was upgraded to a full T3 (45Mbps). In addition, other networking capabilities (e.g. videoconferencing, wireless networking) are currently in use at NCI. Faster networking and reliable connections are NCI-Frederick’s highest concerns, so improvements are a must! |
